The characteristics of precision molds and their differences from ordinary molds

发布时间:2024-04-30  浏览量:120

What are the differences between precision molds and general molds

Six characteristics of precision mold forming:

1、 The standard accuracy of the product is high, and the public service is small, that is, there is a high-precision standard boundary;

2、 The repeatability accuracy of the product is required to be high, with standard stability of day, month, and year;

3、 The material of the mold is good, the rigidity foot, the standard precision and smoothness of the cavity and the positioning precision between the templates are high;

4、 Replace conventional injection molding machines with precision injection molding machines;

5、 Select precision molding technology;

6、 Choose materials that are accustomed to precision molding.

The key standards for many precision molds do not allow for a slope, but when making molds, they usually make full use of the public service belt with a very small slope, such as gear equipment columns. When establishing a digital model, it is important to pay attention to the adjustment of the public service. Generally, the 3D models provided by customers are not useful because many of their standards are based on extreme standards. If mold design is carried out according to this, the molds produced will basically be invalidated.

Secondly, the drawings must be comprehensive, intact, and accurate, using inserts as much as possible, and considering processing as much as possible. Relevant standards should be ensured by machines as much as possible. The role of fitters in precision plastic molds is to strictly follow the drawings. Most mold parts need to be strictly designed for public service, not only for the working parts of the cavity and core, but also for the equipment orientation of all inserts. Generally controlled within+/-0.005.

With the rapid development of precision molds, China's precision mold industry has become at the forefront of the international community. At present, precision molds in China have four major characteristics: wear resistance, strong resistance, fatigue cracking function, and high-temperature function. Below, we will share the four characteristics of precision molds with you.

The four characteristics of precision molds

1. Wear resistance

When the billet undergoes plastic deformation in the mold cavity, it moves and slides along the surface of the cavity, causing severe conflicts between the cavity surface and the billet, which in turn leads to the failure of the mold due to wear and tear. So the wear resistance of materials is one of the basic and important functions of mold Z.

Hardness is the primary factor affecting wear resistance. In general, the higher the hardness of mold parts, the smaller the wear, and the better their wear resistance. In addition, wear resistance is also related to the type, quantity, shape, size, and distribution of carbides in the material.

2. Strong endurance

The working conditions of molds are mostly very harsh, some of which often bear large impact loads, leading to brittle cracking. To prevent sudden brittle fracture of mold parts during operation, precision hardware molds should have high strength and durability.

The durability of a mold primarily depends on the carbon content, grain size, and arrangement of the material - precision mold making.

3. Fatigue cracking function

During the mold operation process, fatigue and cracking often occur under the long-term effect of cyclic stress. The methods include low energy multiple impact fatigue cracking, tensile fatigue cracking, contact fatigue cracking, and bending fatigue cracking.

The fatigue and cracking function of a mold mainly depends on its strength, durability, hardness, and the content of inclusions in the material.

4. High temperature function

When the operating temperature of the mold is high, it will cause a decrease in hardness and strength, leading to early wear or plastic deformation of the mold and failure. Therefore, precision hardware mold materials should have high tempering stability to ensure that the mold has high hardness and strength at operating temperatures.
